REPORTER/ANCHOR:
Fox 13 News / fox13now.com (Salt Lake City, Utah) is looking for a top-notch, experienced reporter/anchor. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, communication, related field or equivalent and at least two years of professional reporting and anchoring experience at a local broadcast affiliate. Applicants must also have a smooth on-air delivery, good verbal skills, a pleasant voice and on-air appearance, and excellent "live" reporting skills. Additional qualifications include sound newsgathering abilities, strong writing skills, creative story ideas, and an "eye" for stories with audience appeal. Candidates must have the proven ability to consistently compile accurate, journalistically sound news reports under the direction of news management. Applicant must be Internet-savvy, with experience gathering information and filing stories on several different platforms: TV, radio, web, social networking, etc. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Applicants may be required to take a current events quiz and a writing test. Please provide a DVD with your recent TV experience as part of the application process.

ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR:
KSTU/Fox 13 Television has an immediate opening in its Finance Department for a full-time ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR. Primary functions of this position involve accounts payable, log editing/reconciliation, monthly billing, data entry, and related clerical duties.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in accounting, business, related field or equivalent
- Two years related work experience, preferably in accounts payable
- Proficient with Excel and mainframe input
- Excellent data entry/keyboarding and 10-key skills
- Team-oriented individual with a proven record of dependability, accuracy, and ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to project a professional image over the phone and in person while working under pressure
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer applicants with knowledge of broadcast accounting procedures
ASSOCIATE PRODUCER:
Looking for your first job in local television? Look no more! Fox 13 wants someone with a passion for journalism who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to wear many hats. We are looking for an associate producer for our 5pm & 9pm newscasts.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, communication, related field or equivalent.
Associate Producers do the following: -Determine content of newscasts by sorting through news wires, news feeds, periodicals, newspapers and daily file; assist in choosing stories and determining placement in show. -Assist in producing a visually interesting newscast using graphics, banners, full-screen graphics, etc. -Coordinate with assignment desk to plan and coordinate inclusion of late-breaking news stories in newscast. Also assist assignment desk in determining priorities for reporters, photographers and editors. -Communicate effectively with staff (i.e. anchors, reporters, assignment editors and assistants, photographers, editors, graphic artists) giving reasonable deadlines and instructions to ensure a smooth-running show. -Stay up-to-date on current local, national and international events by reading newspapers, periodicals, listening to news radio, watching other newscasts, etc. Fill-in for news producers as requested. -Continually suggest story, segment and franchise ideas. -Work with News Director and Assistant News Director to maximize viewing audiences in a metered market with story and segment placement designed to attract and maintain audience. -Assist in story selection and production for Fox13now.com, as well as Fox 13's various social media platforms. -Professionally represent KSTU by creating and maintaining a pleasant, friendly work environment.

Applicants must also be able to devote 24 hours per week and demonstrate that they will receive credit toward their degree for the internship. Interns will receive a daily travel stipend of $5.
ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE:
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in business, media sales, communication or related field or equivalent Minimum of three years previous sales experience in media sales, television and/or radio (Applicants with television sales experience are strongly preferred and will be given first consideration.) Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a sales team while under pressure Familiarity with NSI ratings, Scarborough research, CMR, Marketron and/or comparable research tools Ability to read a video display terminal; working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases (preferably Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Wide Orbit a plus. PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB: 1. Contacts local advertising agencies and direct clients, acting as a liaison between the station and the advertising community. 2. Makes sales presentations to all classification of clients to obtain orders for advertising time. 3. Coordinates internally the actual purchase of advertising time and placement of the schedule. 4. Develops new local direct business and increases share for transactional business. Sells internet advertising to exisitng and new business clients. Achieves monthly and quarterly budgets. 5. Assist in the collection of past due bills. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer applicants that have worked in a local television station environment similar to KSTU.
