SALT LAKE CITY - 80,000 people are expected to pack into Washingtion Square on Thursday for the 33rd annual Utah Arts Festival. It's the start of the summer festival season, but festivals such as this in Utah are being affected by the down economy. Arts Festival organizers made necessary budget cuts while trying to make sure the event is not cheapened. That may be the case with the Utah Jazz Festival as well, according to organizer Jerry Floor. "I think alot of people, what do they call 'em... staycations... where they stay in town, I think this is gonna be a great staycation as is the Utah Arts Festival; this is a great inexpensive way to spend a vacation right here in Salt Lake City," says Floor.
