SALT LAKE CITY—
More than 300 belly dancers performed in Utah's biggest belly dancing event at the Masonic Temple Saturday afternoon. Breast cancer survivor, Bobbi Abplanalp says dancing helped her heal from breast cancer."It's carried me through a lot of different things through my lifetime but cancer, it's really held me through. After my surgery I used the belly dance techniques to keep my shoulders loose after a full mastectomy," said Abplanalp, also known as 'Amura' when she performs.
Abplanalp had the chance to perform with the other dancers. "We have more belly dancers per capita than anywhere in the United States," said event organizer, Yasamina Roque.
