Construction Business Owner Killed in Industrial Accident
TOELLE COUNTY, Utah - The owner of Rocky Mountain Construction Services was killed in an industrial accident. 50-year-old Ron Samford and two other men were moving out of the way when the mining storage bin they were working on unexpectedly came crashing down.The incident happened Thursday afternoon at the Marblehead Quarry, northwest of Delle. The Tooele County Sheriff's office says the company was hired to demolish 100,000 lbs metal silos that were no longer in use.

"They were just using torches and cutting the metal and the bracing down and they had just completed their cutting and were moving out of the way when it just came down on them," said Tooele County deputy Duke North.

Unified Fire AUthority's Heavy Rescue Team and several other crews are still using cranes to try to lift the silo off Samford. Another worker suffered minor injuries, but was not hospitalized. The third worker was uninjured.
