UTAH COUNTY -
Utah County Sheriffs says there is no shortage of criminal activity in and around the hot springs in Diamond Fork Canyon in Utah County. Others insist it is a peaceful environment to enjoy the great outdoors. Last October, eight men and women were cited for lewdness while taking a late night dip in the nude. They argued the sign at the trailhead read: "nudity is not prohibited on forest service trails." The sign has since been removed.
"There is a county ordinance as well as a state statute that prohibits people from publicly exposing themselves," says Yvette Rice from the Utah County Sheriff's office.
But does crime really run rampant in the area? And what do hikers say about random nudity along the trail? FOX 13's Max Roth reports.
