DirecTV, Versus Spar Over College Football Airing Rights and Cost
BYU and Utah both have the Big Mountain West Conference games this Saturday. The Utes host Air Force whil the Cougars face TCU in the conference game of the year. But DirecTV customers won't see either game. Back on September 19, Comcast and Dish Network subscribers were able to watch the BYU/Florida State game on Versus. While DirecTV subscribers saw this:

"Versus is owned by DirecTV competitor Comcast and is demanding that the satellite service pay more to carry its channel. DirecTV says the 20 percent rate hike is unfair and outrageous." Versus says it's charging its normal market rate and has taken out newspaper ads trashing DirecTV. Meanwhile local fans continue to be caught in the middle of the dispute.
