Federal Drug Police said there has been little rest for officers who have seized an average of 100,000 marijuana plants in the last two years. Police are worried about the danger to the public because growers are heavily armed. Mike Root of the DEA said, "It's really going in a direction of creating a dangerous situation for citizens out there. Everybody that enjoys the outdoors is basically coming across these types of operations."

DEA would like the public to call their task force hotline number (801) 524-4156 if they have seen an illegal marijuana operation.
