Evacuations Underway in Draper, Corner Canyon for Rain Runoff
DRAPER, Utah - Draper City Manager will initiate reverse 911 calls Wednesday night for residents near 11900 South and 2000 East. Thunderstorms created rain runoff carrying mud and debris that is threatening nearby homes near East Pioneer Road. Warning sirens have been activated. Unified Fire Department responded to the area to warn residents and begin preventative measures. As of 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, two homes have needed mud and water pumped out from their basement areas.

The Corner Canyon area has had heavy fire burn scarring from last summer's fire season that can cause heavy erosion, or possible land/mud slide problems. No mudslides have been spotted so far.
