SPRINGVILLE, Utah - Police have identified a woman who was killed after being shot Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Springville. Police say 19-year-old Molly Ann Case, from Provo, was killed after a gun fell out of the car and discharged, striking Case in the abdomen. Lt. Dave Caron of Springville Police said, "When they stopped at a 7-Eleven, her husband opened the door for her to get in the car and when he did, a gun fell out, it hit the ground and went off."

Case was with her husband, Richard Case, 24, and Case's cousin. Police said they were camping in Hobble Creek canyon over the weekend which included some target shooting. Police add that the gun was an older model that did not include an "interlock" mechanism. Police remind people to keep any weapon in a safe place to avoid accidents.

On Monday morning, police said their investigation was just about complete. The shooting is not being considered suspicious. They are calling it a tragic accident and do not plan to file any charges.
