SALT LAKE CITY - Real Salt Lake's soccer team's MLS Championship win could bring millions to Utah, providing a boost to a struggling economy in the state. The players of the team will have a private lunch at the Governor's Mansion at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon and at 3:00 p.m., Gov. Gary Herbert will read a declaration, officially making November 24 Real Salt Lake Day. A motorcade on State Street to Rio Tinto Stadium will immediately follow the declaration. A free celebration open to the public at Rio Tinto Stadium will then kick-off at 5:30 p.m.

Gov. Herbert predicts Real Salt Lake soccer win will brings millions to Utah because it has now the state has more national recognition.

"People are discovering Utah, Real Salt Lake's soccer team and are celebrating this great victory," said Gov. Herbert. "Just the Major League Soccer All-Star game that we had here in July, just in this area, one day, was worth about 3 to 4 million dollars in economic benefit to the state."

Doors for the free celebration of Real Salt Lake open to the public will open promptly at 5:00 p.m. this evening.
