HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah - Utah Congressman Rob Bishop confirmed to FOX 13 news that Hill Air Force Base is one of three finalists to house the new F-35 Lightning squadrons, the next generation of U.S. Military fighter jets. The Lockheed Martin Fighter Jet will replace the F-22. The other bases in the running are Idaho and Shaw, South Carolina. Housing the F-35 could be crucial to Hill Air Force Base as the Air Force phases out the F-16 squadrons that call the base home.

A final decision will come in the spring of 2010.
