SOUTH JORDAN, Utah - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hosted the cornerstone ceremony as a part of its dedication for the new Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple in South Jordan on Friday morning. The temple is the 130th in the world and the 13th in the state of Utah. It is also the second LDS temple in the same city and South Jordan is now the only city in the world to have that distinction. LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson hosted the ceremony on his 82nd birthday.

Over 567,000 people attended the open house over the last three months. The temple is now closed to the public and only LDS Church members with a recommend will be able to go inside.
