SALT LAKE CITY -
After interviewing a Bountiful man several times, police have arrested Joseph Paschall after they say his story of being abducted at gunpoint does not add up. Police say that 30-year-old Paschall said he was abducted and taken from his home and later allowed to call his wife to "say goodbye" from his so-called abductors. Police believe that he staged the crime and had even went to the extent of killing his own dog. Police found Paschall Tuesday night at around 10:00 p.m. seriously injured, several hours after his wife informed police of his call. Bountiful police issued an endangered person advisory Tuesday afternoon. Paschall was found outside of his car bleeding profusely near a Mount Olympus trailhead. Paschall was still well enough to talk to police. He says that two gunman took him hostage and killed one of his dogs.
Police initially visited the victim's residence at 2904 South and 400 West in Bountiful, only to find the backdoor open and the family pet stabbed to death inside. FOX 13's Scott McKane has the latest.
