RIVERTON - A 23-year-old man was found shot in his home in Riverton. He was soon found by his younger brother in the basement. Police responded the shooting at 13115 South and 1635 West and found the man shot in the torso by a .22 caliber rifle. The brother tells Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson that when he came home Thursday afternoon he found his brother on the ground with the rifle next to the body. Hutson says that the brother said he believed that someone broke into the home and used the rifle, which was originally hidden under the bed within the home.

The victim was still concious when he was taken to the hospital. He says that he did not know who shot him, and that when he turned around he was suddenly shot.
