SANDY, Utah -
A 30-year-old man was critically injured Monday morning when he was stabbed by a Sandy man. It happened at 117 West Palmer Way. Police say Alajandro Lozano, 23, and Yareli Perez, 19, were having an argument just after midnight Monday morning and Perez was kicked out of the house. Perez then called her cousin, 30-year-old Allen Garcia, to assist her as she retrieved some of her belongings from the house. When Garcia arrived, Lozano allegedly confronted him at the front door of the home. Garcia and Lozano had a verbal argument, and Lozano allegedly punched Garcia and attacked him with a steak knife.
Garcia had stab wounds in the face, chest, arm and armpit. He was taken by helicopter to the University of Utah Medical Center in critical condition. Alajandro was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on aggravated assault charges.
