SALT LAKE CITY - Several Salt Lake County agencies came to the aid of an elderly man with too many cats Thursday. Neighbors say County Animal Services had been to the 69-year-old man's residence for having too many cats before. The man, George Barron, called animal rescue to have them help out with his nine cats. When volunteers arrived to help clean, they were shocked by the conditions the man and his pets were living in so they called for more assistance.

Salt Lake County Aging Services could not comment on the specific incident but suggest that friends and neighbors keep a look out for those who may need help in similar situations. Those who feel that a elderly fried, family member or neighbor needs such help, they can call: (801)468-2480.
