SALT LAKE CITY - It's been a 10-day-long bench trial for a judge to hear both sides as to whether a remote road in Canyonlands National Park can be accessed by motorized vehicles. That trail, Salt Creek roadway, is the rugged remote path that leads to the famous sandstone structure, Angel Arch. The state of Utah and San Juan County are in court with the federal government arguing the case that there should be an open-access road under county control. San Juan County Commissioner, Lynn Stevens says that allowing motorized access to the trail will allow people, who are unable to make the 15-mile hike, to be able to see the natural landmark.
