SPANISH FORK, Utah - Students in the Nebo School District are mourning the loss of one of their classmates after a fatal car accident on Sunday.13-year-old Vanessa Estrada was one of four Utah County teens that died in the car crash. School District officials said Estrada was a student at Mount Nebo Junior High School.

The crash happened after 1:30 a.m.Sunday morning along Emma Park Road near Price Canyon. The Sheriff's Office said the Chevy Aveo was going nearly 100 miles per hour when the driver tried to take a designated 30 mph turn. The car slammed into a concrete barrier and split the barrier in half.

The teens in the car all died from severe internal trauma. The teens are identified as Jose Flores, 16, from Orem, Mauro Lopez Age 16, of Orem, Manuel Gonzalez,19, of Orem, and Vanessa Estrada, 13, from Payson.

Authorities said Estrada escaped out of her home around midnight on Sunday. Her family learned what happened when Sheriff's deputies answered her ringing cell phone.

School District officials said they have staff on hand to deal with the grief her friends and fellow students are feeling.
