SOUTH JORDAN, Utah - A parasite has taken Oquirrh Lake off the list for triathletes for Saturday's games. Three residents in South Jordan have been sickened with Roundworm. And the Daybreak neighborhood is having its first triathlon, but instead of the athletes swimming through the lake, they are now avoiding it, and instead incorporating the community pool. The Salt Lake Valley Health Department found the parasite eggs in seven out of 14 shore samples. So Rio Tinto and Kennecott voluntarily closed the lake and are warning residents not to swim or fish. They are hoping the Fall frost will kill off the bug.
