SALT LAKE CITY -
Last year, a reported 245 people were killed on Utah's roadways but UHP and UDOT says too many people are still dying on the roads. "It would be different if these were just numbers on a spread sheet, it's not, it's real people. We see the rate going down, but it's still way too many," UDOT Executive Director, John Njord said.
Improper restraint contributed to 96 of those fatalities followed by speed and driving under the influence. Salt Lake, Weber and Utah counties had the most fatalities and more men than women were killed in crashes last year.
