SALT LAKE CITY - Community Action Partnership of Utah (CAP Utah) released The 2009 Annual Reports on Poverty in Utah at a press conference Wednesday afternoon. The annual report was developed to provide information on the extent of poverty in Utah. Local officials and CAP Utah leaders discussed the current poverty level in the state. According to the CAP Utah's annual report poverty has infiltrated middle and working class families. There has been a 61 percent increase of people who sought some form of assistance and Workforce Services had a 125 percent jump of unemployment job filings this past year.

CAP Utah hopes this annual report will increase awareness of the growing poverty rates and help those in need.
