SALT LAKE CITY—
Students are using styrofoam and cardboard to make art masterpieces for the classroom in a set design summer camp at Salt Lake Junior Academy. This is the second year that the school is running the camp and a castle entrance from last year is a product of the students' work. Current projects of the camp for the upcoming school year include Ancient Egyptian art, a rainforest with trees coming out of the classroom, outerspace nebulas and more.Experienced professionals are there at the design camp to teach students.
"We want to make sure kids are engaged in the curriculum in a way that they can only do it if they are involved," said Principal Kendall of the Salt Lake Junior Academy.
