SALT LAKE CITY—
Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker and South Salt Lake Mayor Robert Gray are working on plans to install a streetcar system to serve the South Salt Lake City and Sugar House communities. The two mile rail would stretch from about 2100 South and 200 West to Highland Drive in Sugar House. The streetcar system is projected to cost $40-50 million, which is expected to be paid off within 20-30 years. "Businesses and people who live in residences like to live near rail. And, this is a very neighborhood friendly kind of development. It's also very accessible for businesses," Becker said. FOX 13's Kirk Yuhnke has more.
