Small Fire In Central Utah Allowed To Burn
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - A small wildfire in central Utah will be allowed to burn, at least for now. Officials with the Manti-La Sal National Forest say the fire -- which had burned less than acre by Sunday evening -- will be monitored and fought if it threatens lives or property. Officials say fire plays an important role for the pinyon-juniper ecosystem in that area. Lightning ignited the fire on Thursday along the border between Sanpete and Utah counties.

It's burning about eight miles north of Indianola and smoke has been visible from Highway 89 and Highway 6.
