Suspect's defense in DJ Bell beating case says DA went back on word

Suspect, Ricky Peace, says prosecutors promised him he would not face felony charges for the self-incriminating testimony he would give during the David Bell trial. Bell was initially accused of kidnapping two children from his neighbor's home in the summer of 2008. Bell was later acquitted, but he followed with a countersuit after he and his partner were severely beaten. And after the failed kidnapping trial, Salt Lake County prosecutors charged Peace and several others for assault.
