WEST VALLEY CITY -
A 17-year old West Valley City boy was seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday night. Police say an older model Toyota with two men inside fired six to seven shots into an apartment building at 1799 west and 2565 South.
One of the shots hit the 17-year old in his upper leg as he was sitting on a couch in his apartment. Police say his wound is serious but not life threatening. A second bullet went into a basement apartment but did not hit anyone. West Valley police believe the gunmen deliberately targeted the apartment and also believe the shooting is gang related.
