TOOELE, Utah—
Residents of Tooele County are putting up a fight against Rocky Mountain Power about the location of its power lines. A couple hundred people came to the Tooele County Commission Meeting discussing a different route for a new power line corridor. The petition is asking for an adjustment in the routes and had gathered more than 4 thousand signature in only three weeks. Many citizens at the meeting spoke of their love for the foothills of Tooele and sadness at the thought of Rocky Mountain Power scarring the land and invading residential areas with power lines. The petition will continue to circulate until July 31. Rocky Mountain Power has been working with the citizens and has looked at three of their proposed alternate routes. No decisions have been made.
