SALT LAKE CITY -
Two men are in serious condition after being hit by a TRAX train in downtown Salt Lake City. Utah Transit Authority spokesman Gerry Carpenter says the men were hit by a westbound train on Wednesday at the station near the library. Salt Lake City police spokeswoman Robin Snyder said two men in their early 20s got into a fight, either with each other or other people, and fell into the path of an arriving train.
Snyder said they were hit by the front of the train. Both were dragged for a short distance but one remained stuck under the train and had to be extricated. Snyder said the men are in serious condition with lacerations.
