SALT LAKE CITY—
Dr. Rachot created a membership plan allowing patients who do not have insurance to get inexpensive basic care. Dr. Rachot said, "For basic medical care. All you need is a medical provider, a doctor, nurse practitioner or PA with a stethoscope, prescription pad and basic procedures like strep test and x-rays.All of this is still not expensive." It is not health insurance because it will only cover basic urine and blood tests, X-rays, shots and splinting. Dr. Rachot said they will not perform surgery or treat chronic disease or pain but it will help people who can not find any affordable coverage.
