If the Utahpolicy.com Fox 13 political insiders' are right, Utah may soon be the first state in the nation to create a category of homicide for women seeking illegal abortions. Rep. Carl Wimmer of Herriman has proposed the law.
Seeking an illegal abortion would be a second degree felony. 59.9 percent of Republican insiders think the bill will pass both the state House and Senate. 63.6 percent of Democratic insiders agree. The bill has already passed an interim committee of both houses, putting it on the fast track once the legislative session starts in January.
