FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) -
A school principal has apologized after getting complaints over a video shown at an assembly that includes celebrities pledging to advance stem cell research and buy hybrid vehicles, among other things. Students at Eagle Bay Elementary School in Farmington were shown a video called "I pledge" on Friday. The video features audio clips of President Barack Obama giving a speech and celebrities making pledges about things like smiling more and volunteering. Others pledges were for things like not giving people the finger while driving.
One parent said a video promoting certain values shouldn't have been shown and that such values should be decided in the home.
A Davis School District spokesman says the video was shown during an assembly about service. The spokesman says school principal Ofelia Wade did not see the video before it was shown and apologizes.
