WEST POINT, Utah -
A West Point toddler is run over and killed in her family's backyard. The accident happened Saturday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. The 15-month-old girl, Grace Hill, is the daughter of West Point's City Manager Gary Hill.
Capt. Kenneth Payne of the Davis County Sheriff's Office said the girl was playing with five other children in the backyard. Her father and a friend, West Point's assistant city manager, were digging a hole in the yard. Once their truck was full, the assistant city manager hauled the load out of the backyard. Authorities said the driver didn't realize he had hit the young girl. Moments later, Gary Hill discovered his daughter on the ground.
Investigators say this was simply a tragic accident and they will not be pressing any criminal charges.
