PROVO, Utah -
A couple parks were shutdown last night after hikers at Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon ran into a bear. Today hounds were on the hunt, but the bear has still not been found. The bear was spotted on a hiking trail last night. There have also been reports of another bear that was sitting further up the Canyon last week. Wildlife officials say this is not a nuisance bear, but they had hounds out this morning looking for it.
Wildlife officials got bear sighting reports from Bridal Veil Falls and also from Vivian Park. Bears have wandered down into the recreation areas of Provo Canyon before, but this year with so much vegetation and water up so high, officers wonder why the bear was on the hiking trail.
FOX 13's Arikka Von has the story.
