Marines from the 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion returned home Saturday to awaiting friends and family. The joy was mixed with tears from the loss of two marines who were killed during their seven month deployment. "We wish that Carlos and Nigel would be getting off the bus with them, but we know they're here in spirit," says Kim Olsen, mother to marine Lance Cpl. Nigel Olsen, who along with Lance Cpl. Carlos A. Aragon, died in the line of duty

The ultimate sacrifice made by the two marines was not lost on anyone. Signs bearing pictures of the fallen marines hung from fences and walls.

"We cried, we cried together, we still cry when we see their sign," says mother, Laura Lee, who shared their emotions and grief along with the Olsen family.

Nearly all of the 105 members of the reserve unit that returned home are local. Each serves a six-year term. There are no plans of future deployment for these marines.
