SALT LAKE CITY - Arizona's new immigration bill, SB 1070, which went into effect Thursday, had most of its controversial material blocked by a federal judge. And Arizona sought to reinstate key parts of the measure causing many opponents of the bill to take to the streets in protest, including Utah's. Local protesters say they want immigration reform that is "humane," and is recognized nationwide and that measures represented in Arizona are driving a wedge between the two sides based. Thursday night protesters gathered at the Capitol's rotunda to rally in protest, not only for Arizona's new reform, but for what Utah may have in store for the future.
