SANDY, Utah - The Little League Bengals have completed an undefeated season, making them favorites to win a mighty mites championship. But as the 11-year-olds head into their penultimate playoff game against arch-rival Riverton, they aren't crediting their prolific passer, stodgy defense or veteran coach. Instead they credit a teammate who can only watch from the safety of his parents car.

Jonathan Bowen has been fighting kidney cancer since his diagnosis in January. Nine months of chemotherapy have robbed the spring in his step, but not the upbeat attitude his friends still enjoy. "I just try to think good thoughts," said Jonathan, showing off the eight game balls signed for him by his coaches and teammates after each win this season. "We're out here fighting a battle and John's in his house fighting his battle," said quarterback Hunter Albert.
