ZION NATIONAL PARK, Utah — One person died and three others were injured Friday morning in a crash involving an antique car near Zion National Park.
The crash happened around 10:20 on SR-9 at mile post 52. According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, an antique Model T Ford with four people inside was traveling west on SR-9 when its driver pulled over to allow traffic to pass.
The vehicle had wooden spokes on its wheels. When the right front wheel went off the pavement, its spokes came apart, causing the car to overturn.
Three of the people in the car were taken by ambulance to Kane County Hospital. A fourth passenger, a 51-year-old woman, sustained critical injuries and later died.
Police later identified the deceased woman as Keren Johnson of Owatonna, Minnesota.
The other victims’ names and ages were not released.
