SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah — Two people were taken to an area hospital in serious condition after a three-vehicle accident on State Street in South Salt Lake Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. when two vehicles traveling east on 3300 South attempted to turn north onto State Street. A third vehicle going through the intersection westbound was part of the collision that occurred in the intersection, said Gary Keller, executive officer for South Salt Lake police.
During the collision, Keller said, one of the cars rolled onto its side.
Two people were taken to the hospital in serious condition. Keller said their injuries are not life threatening.
State Street was shut down for a short period of time to clear the accident.
Keller said it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor or if all individuals involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.
