A Utah-based company is showing people that sometimes the opportunity to help someone in need comes right to your door.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Young Automotive Group decided to bring food donations right to doorsteps by creating eight different food donation parades all throughout the counties of Weber, Morgan and Davis.

“We’ve made a little bit of noise, we’ve got some sirens going, people come out and they're all excited to see us, and we let them know: 'Hey, we're donating to local food banks -- it's needed," said marketing director Winslow Young.

Neighbors flooded the cul-de-sac, wondering what the ruckus was all about.

"I ran downstairs and grabbed some of our extra," said Layton resident Heidi Paget. "We knew it would help.”

"Apple sauce, beans, cream of chicken soup… those kinds of things that you always have on hand." said neighbor Natalie Jeffries.

Young says that this was their first food donation parade, but after seeing today's success, he doesn't think it will be their last.

Donations were taken to Bountiful, Morgan and Ogden food pantries along with the Catholic Community Services.

If you would like to donate, there are bins set up at all 16 Young Automotive Group locations, which can be found here on their website.
