SALT LAKE CITY — Four members of the Salt Lake City Police Department, including three officers and a civilian employee, are now on administrative leave and under self quarantine at home.
Once the news broke Thursday night that Rudy Gobert had tested positive for the coronavirus, two officers and the civilian employee who work closely with Jazz team members spoke with Chief Mike Brown.
They were all at Monday’s Jazz home game against the Toronto Raptors, and the decision was made for them to quarantine at home.
The third officer recently returned from a trip to a country in the far east and he is also now on administrative leave and home quarantine.
The good news is that so far, none of the four are displaying any symptoms.
Brown says all of this is being done on the side of caution and to reassure the public that the critical element of public safety is intact.
He added that the traditional shift line-up before officers hit the streets is now being suspended, with officers now calling in remotely prior to their shift.
Also, his command staff is also now separated into two teams, a gold team and blue team. They will alternate days when they come into the office and spend the other time working from home.
