First Sanpete County fatality reported in Saturday's COVID-19 numbers

The Utah Department of Health has released Saturday’s COVID-19 numbers.

New Cases
345 new cases have been reported, bringing the statewide total to 46,321.

Testing
5,084 new tests have been conducted since Friday’s report. The rolling seven-day average of positive cases is now 365, or roughly 9.2%. 594,901 people in Utah have been tested for COVID-19 since March.

Recoveries
37,346 cases are considered recovered, having tested positive for the virus three weeks ago, and not passing away as a result.

Hospitalizations
167 people are currently hospitalized in connection to the virus. 2,760 people have been hospitalized since March.

Deaths
Three new deaths have been reported, bringing the statewide fatality rate to 363. Those new deaths include:

  • A male between the ages of 65 and 84 who was a Salt Lake County resident, and was in a long-term care facility;
  • A female between the ages of 25 and 44 who was a Salt Lake County resident, and was hosptalized at the time of death;
  • A male over the age of 85 who was a Sanpete County resident, and was not hospitalized at the time of death. This is the first death reported by Sanpete County.
