Health Dept.: 553 new COVID-19 cases in Utah, four new deaths

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 update for Tuesday shows 553 new confirmed cases and four new deaths.

Utah now has 22,217 confirmed cases. 340,753 people in Utah have been reported tested for the disease.

A total of 172 people in Utah have died of COVID-19, an increase of four since Monday's update.

1,444 people in Utah have required hospitalization due to COVID-19.

An estimated 12,398 people in Utah have recovered from the disease. UDOH estimates the recoveries by counting the people who survived three weeks after testing positive for COVID-19.
