SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Jazz star, Rudy Gobert, is throwing his weight behind a new initiative called, "Crush the Curve."
Utah's largest tech companies announced the initiative Thursday.
Silicon Slopes initiated a website to increase testing and COVID-19 tracing in the state.
The site, testutah.com, provides a series of questions to help determine if a person has symptoms or not and whether that person is eligible for a test.
Gobert hopes all Utahns will take advantage of the site.
“Hey what’s up everyone? It’s Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz. Let’s get Utah back on the court. Go to test.utah.com today for your online assessment, and let’s ‘crush the curve.”
Gobert's positive test for COVID-19 on March 11 convinced the NBA to stop all games, a move that was followed by almost all other sports.
Teammate Donovan Mitchell also contracted COVID-19, but both have recently been given a clean bill of health.
Besides the website, the other goal of Crush the Curve is to provide more testing centers and the materials needed to perform the tests.
Two mobile testing centers have already been set up with plans to add up to eight more.
Developers say the data collected will help target a state response and find any possible hot spots.
The goal is to have every Utahn assessed and double the number of tests analyzed in the state.
