For now, Utah's COVID-19 trajectory not as steep as the nation's

Utah’s coronavirus case curve looks a lot better than national numbers, but state epidemiologist Dr. Angela Dunn warns that Covid-19 tends to have a two week lag between a person being infected and becoming symptomatic.

The first chart is from The Guardian Newspaper. You’ll notice the US trajectory is pretty scary.

But Utah’s trajectory is less scary. The second chart is Fox 13’s using numbers from the Utah Department of Health from 3/17 to 3/26. A caution: Utah’s numbers are low enough they may not reflect the big picture. Covid-19 infections can take two weeks to become symptomatic and it’s symptoms that send patients to be tested.
