OGDEN, Utah — 1,000 employees with Autoliv are on paid leave after two of their coworkers tested positive for COVID-19.
Both employees worked at the Ogden Airbag Assembly facility in the swing shift test bay, which is the world’s largest airbag manufacturing facility.
Some employees were already preparing for a week of paid time off because of a dip in sales.
On Sunday night, the entire Ogden plant was shut down for a deep cleaning and all employees were sent home for at least seven days.
In a letter to their employees on Monday morning, Autoliv explained all other swing shift test bay employees will be quarantined for 14 days.
The company is also working on mapping the areas the two infected employees had been to see who could have potentially been exposed.
