Today is a great day to travel!
The problem is, the break from stormy weather won't last long. Snow will begin overnight and become widespread by Friday morning. While accumulations could make the morning commute messy, as it warms up it'll change over to rain in most valleys by the afternoon.
Wet weather will last through the holiday weekend with heavy snow expected in the mountains. Snow levels will hover around 6,800 feet, so valleys will primarily get rain. It'll get cold enough for rain to change back over snow in the valleys Sunday afternoon & evening.
