SALT LAKE CITY — A cold front is moving south across the state Thursday.

Behind it, temperatures will be a lot colder than the last few days.

The big weather story will be the cold today, with temperatures well below normal.

Snow showers will also linger behind the front but will be very spotty and light.

No accumulation is expected in valleys, but there could be an inch in the southern Wasatch Mountains and western Uintas.

That could make for winter driving conditions this morning over higher passes.

Farther south , snow is less likely.

It will be colder everywhere.

It will be warming up for the end of the work week and heading into weekend.

It will be nice on Friday and Saturday, but more rain and snow by end of weekend.
