SALT LAKE CITY — Wednesday will not be as cold as Tuesday.
An approaching storm will bring wet weather today through Thursday night with a few showers lingering into Friday.
Valley rain and mountain snow will begin this morning across the north and become more likely by afternoon.
There could be several inches of snow in the mountains in the next 48 hours.
Snow will likely mix with rain in valleys later tonight into Thursday morning.
Very little if any accumulation expected on the valley floor, mainly a dusting on grassy surfaces.
Precipitation moves into southern Utah tonight and will be lighter than across the north.
Accumulating snow in the south will be above 6,500 feet, so mainly confined to the mountains.
Wet weather tapers off Friday and a warmer and dry weekend ahead.
