PROMONTORY, Utah — A fire sparked Saturday near Promontory Point has reached 1,000 acres.
State wildfire officials first reported the fire late Saturday afternoon. It initially threatened doppler radar structures, but a later update reported that fire crews had protected them.
At about 6 p.m. Saturday, the fire was estimated at 1,000 acres with 40 mph winds in the area.
