Easy Shallot Beef Gravy (11.22.11)

4 teaspoons butter
4 shallots, diced
2 tablespoons flour
3 cups beef broth
1/2 cup milk or cream

In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Sauté the shallots for 3-4 minutes. Whisk in the flour. Continue whisking while slowly pouring in the broth and the milk or cream. Cook for 3-4 minutes while stirring. Serve immediately.
